According to Inside Higher Ed, “Roughly 700,000 students, or one in every ten full-time, first-year undergraduates, receive federal work-study subsidies each year.” Sara Anderson, assistant director of the Grand View Career Center, said that Grand View typically hires between 75o and 800 work study positions per academic year.
Many students at Grand View qualify for work study jobs and use them to help contribute to their tuition or for extra spending money. Most college students depend on these on campus jobs to make it through their college years. We talked to some students around Grand View to get their perspective on their job here on campus. We heard about the good, the bad, and the weird things that the students experience on a day to day basis as they serve the Grand View Community.
