Have you ever wondered, what would younger me say? Or just wished that you were a little kid all over again? No school, responsibilities or cares in the world. When it comes to navigating life, sometimes the best advice comes from the most unexpected sources, like a room full of second graders.
Students from East Elementary in Ankeny, Iowa, recently put pen to paper to write letters offering advice to college students (along with some fun artwork to accompany them). Their insights are funny and surprisingly thoughtful.
From practical tips to words of encouragement, the letters cover everything a college student might need to hear. Some students advised on managing screen time, calling loved ones and even gave a creative twist to these letters. Mrs. Elkaz’s class sure knows how to give advice.
For the college students who receive them, these letters are a heartwarming reminder to slow down, stay kind and enjoy the little moments. Advice is timeless, no matter what stage of life you’re in. As the second graders’ messages make their way to campus, they bring more than just words; they bring perspective, laughter and a little bit of the joy that only a child can offer.
