TOUS les JOURS is a French-Asian inspired bakery in West Des Moines, Iowa that has a variety of baked goods, hand crafted beverages and a variety of coffee and espresso drinks. According to the TOUS Les JOURS website, Tous les Jours literally means “every day,” in French. The bakery launched in the US in 2004, they have more than 110 locations across the US from New York to California and more than 1,740 worldwide. They have bigger locations in California, New York and New Jersey. The bakery opened in West Des Moines on July 4, 2025. It is located near the Jordan Creek Town Center, open Monday to Sunday from 7a.m.- 7 p.m. I went to the bakery on a Friday at 9a.m., it was pretty busy in the store. There were people sitting to enjoy their pastries and coffee with other people, by themselves and taking them to-go. The customers were all getting a variety of things that the bakery offers.
They have savory pastries, sweet pastries, the beverage menu has a variety of coffee and tea drinks, with nondairy milk options to ensure that everyone has something they like. TOUS Les JOURS had a good variety of things to choose from so I am sure everyone could find something they enjoy. When I went to the bakery, I tried three different things: two pastries and one coffee. I had the strawberry croissant, cocoa hazelnut croissant, and an iced tiramisu latte with almond milk. The cost was around $16 which I think is a pretty fair price for two pastries and one coffee drink. The pastries were fresh and tasted great. My favorite was the cocoa hazelnut croissant because it was not too sweet. I thought it had the perfect ratio of chocolate to croissant. The strawberry croissant was also very good but I thought that there was a little too much whipped cream in it and it made the croissant a little soggy. I enjoy trying new coffee places in the Des Moines area because it is always fun to find a new one. I didvenjoy the coffee, it was not the best I have had though. The taste of the espresso was okay, I am picky with my espresso and I have had better for sure. It was not too sweet which I prefer because I like to be able to taste the espresso. It was not my favorite coffee I have tried but it was not the worst, it was just okay.
Overall, I would recommend TOUS les JOURS to other people. The staff was kind and helpful. The store itself was nice and peaceful even though there were a lot of people in it when I went. The wide selection of pastries to choose from means most everyone would find something to enjoy. The beverage menu had coffee, tea and more so you could again find something you would enjoy. If you like trying new bakeries, I would recommend trying it.
