Frozen Pizza Fight
Growing up I ate more frozen pizzas than I can count. I’ve tried many different brands of frozen pizza with different toppings, different cheese amounts and different types of crust. Back when you were a kid, you didn’t care about which brand was better because all that mattered was putting food in your stomach. I decided to embark on this quest to figure out which frozen pizza tops them all. To see who makes the best frozen pizza, I had to ask around and see which pizzas I should try. The brands that popped up the most were Tombstone original, Lotzza Motzza, Crav’n Pub Style and Jack’s Original Thin. Now it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t pick the same topping for all four; this was a tough decision. So many toppings, so little time. I went with a normal pepperoni topping for all of them. Someone ring the bell, and let’s get ready to rumble, as the battle of the best frozen pizza begins.
Of course, it wasn’t just me who tested these pizzas out. I needed various inputs other than myself, so my roommates Trent, Kaden and Nick helped me to determine the winner.
The first pizza up is the Tombstone original. This pizza took about 21 minutes to be cooked. My roommates weren’t too excited about us starting with the Tombstone. “Why do we have to start with this one,” Kaden said. “This pizza is going to taste like cardboard.” When the pizza finished baking, we all grabbed a piece, and on the count of three, we all took a bite. “The sauce is so salty,” Nick said. “Kaden you were right; this crust is like cardboard.” The cheese was nonexistent like hair on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s head. The pepperoni count wasn’t bad, but the crust and the cheese made it a bad frozen pizza. We all agreed that on a scale of 1-10 that this pizza was a 4. For only $3.79 you can try the pizza yourself, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Moving on to the next challenger, we had Jack’s Original Thin. This pizza took 20 minutes to cook. Once again, we all counted to three and took a bite. “If the crust wasn’t so thin and floppy, this pizza would be bomb,” Trent said. The sauce and pepperoni ratio was perfect, but the crust was as thin as the life expectancy of a birthday cake at a little kid’s birthday party. Overall as a group, we rated this pizza a 7.8.
We had two remaining challengers. Next in the ring we had Crav’n Pub Style frozen pizza. This pizza caught my eye because the cheese was on top of the pepperoni. Crav’n took about 22 minutes to cook. The countdown happened, and we all tore into it. “This has a lot of cheese on it,” Trent and Nick said at the same time. This pizza was great all around. Great crust consistency, very cheesy, but the downside was the pepperoni. Have you ever had a favorite character in a movie and that character died, leaving you pissed and upset? That’s exactly how eating this pizza felt. It hurt my heart. Overall we as a group gave this pizza a 7.9 because the pepperoni lacked.
The final round. Last but not least, we had Lotzza Motzza. This frozen pizza was the most put-together out of the four that we ate. “This is the champ, not even going to lie,” Kaden said. The cheese was there, and the pepperoni tasted immaculate. The crust was cooked to perfection, and it only took 21 minutes to cook. If you had to picture my guy Jesus making a pizza, it would be this one. It brought a tear to my eye. Out of all the years of eating frozen pizza, I felt like my parents had deprived me of good frozen pizza all those years. We as a group decided to rate this pizza 20 out of 10 just because it made us question why our parents hate us so much to not give us Lotzza Motzza.
Winner by KO was Lotzza Motzza, and it was a landslide victory. I had to buy three more Lotzza Motzza pizzas just to make sure it wasn’t a one-time thing. It wasn’t. I highly recommend trying this frozen pizza, you won’t be disappointed.
