Grand View University has a lot of green space on campus. This school year, dogs have often been the center of attention in the outdoor gathering areas. Is this space turning into a dog park? Student’s seem to enjoy the company of the furry friends!
“I feel like the campus green space is still a green space but more for dogs now. Having dogs in the green space makes Grand View more open to new things.”
- Gabby Riley
“I feel there should be less rules on dogs playing in the green space because there are so many dogs on campus. I wouldn’t say it’s a dog park because they have to be on a leash when outside. They can still have a green space but I think they could maybe put a fence up for dogs to have a place to run around in.”
- Isabell Akers
“ Honestly I love dogs on the green space. When I’m walking to class or just get done with studying and really stressed I can just look at the dogs or pet the dogs. It will automatically brighten my day. Dogs on the green space is good.
- Maddie Brewer
"I feel like its still a green space. Even though I love the dogs around its still meant for the students to begin with."
“I feel like it’s more of a dog park now then a green space. Students do find time to use it when they are free to do so. I have seen people playing football, throwing a baseball and fly kites on the green space at the same time as dogs are playing around.”
- Destiny Collins
“I feel like its still more of a green space because people can still do things. I do feel like there is a lot of dogs on campus so its like kind of a both of a dog park and a green space, But still able to be used as a green space.”
- Taylor Wells
“ I love seeing dogs on the green space. t makes me feel at home. It makes me happy when I’m having a bad day. Most people just let their dogs go so we can like pet them and stuff. It just brings joy.”
- Kelsie Walsh
