Grand View University renovating its online identity with a brand new website.
Grand View University started this fall off strong with the launch of its new website. The updated website went live to the public Monday the 4th.
According to Vice President of Marketing and Communication Kendall Dillon, Grand View’s website was originally 12 years old and definitely needed a facelift. In fact, the old website wasn’t giving enough exposure to all the activities and events happening on campus. It also gave limited visibility to Grand View’s academic programs and faculty. Moreover, it took a lot of clicks to access basic information and forced the users to navigate between different websites.
Grand View’s new website creation was led by Web Content Manager Angela Newton and Kendall Dillon with the help of Blue Compass, a web development firm located in West Des Moines.
The focus of this project was to first clean up the old website’s weaknesses and then innovate by adding new features such as an e-commerce functionality.
Although this new website is intuitive in many ways, it is different from the old one and offers way more features. So, to help and guide its users navigating, the GViewfinder crew created this two-minute tutorial video that will introduce the website and present its main tools.
