Hannah is a nursing major who is working at the Caribou Coffee in Ankeny until she graduates. Hannah also has a twin sister here at Grand View.

“We have plenty of weird drink orders — a lot of picky ones, too. We have one (person) who likes a latte but half skim milk, half whole milk; they only want so much froth, and they want five different pumps of syrup. It’s like crazy, crazy.  You have to do it a certain way and a certain temperature, and if you don’t do it right, then she will complain. I’ve had to remake the drink several times for one customer.

“We have several regulars (who are) super friendly; as soon as they walk through the door, you pretty much have their drink made. It’s nice; you get to know them for sure. They tell you about their family. I have one regular I didn’t know, but she was actually from my hometown. So we started talking about that. My favorite customer probably — I mean, I shouldn’t say I have favorites — he is a retired 70-year-old man; he is from Arizona. He stays there in the winter and comes back (here) in the summer. He is so nice. He actually has twin boys, so we talk about twin stuff all the time because of that.”
