Midterms: stressful or nonexistent?

Spring break is nearly here; but first, students, faculty and staff must survive midterms.
Kelsey Walker, Junior in nursing
“I had 3 nursing midterms so far; all nursing: pediatrics, adult health and maternity.” After her stressful week of midterms she is going to Denver for spring break.
Josh Woods, assistant professor of psychology
"I'm going to be doing an assessment report, which should be fun. I am also going to get caught up with grading. My wife and I are going to go to Honey Creek Resort with the family to try and get some pool time in with the kids. They have been stuck inside too long. It's also stressful because right now I'm way behind on grading but it's nice because by the end of the spring break I should be caught back up."
Annie Penquite
"I'm a biology major; we don't have midterms because we just have scheduled tests over the course of the semester. Teachers don't feel like midterms help us much because we have so much material that we have to learn that they have their chapters planned out and they divide it up into four tests plus a final. So I've hardly had a midterm this whole time I've been at college."
William Grunow, Dining Services
“We kind of catch up on doing projects, so this spring break we will do an inventory of forks and plates and that kind of stuff. We also do trainings.”
Breon Glass, Senior in communication
"I can say I'm somewhat stressed out because I want to get all my work done before I leave for break so I can actually relax and kind of come back without having to jump right into like a fast working environment."
Breon will be spending his spring break in Minnesota.
Rachel Large, Senior in business and human services
“Well when I started studying for midterms my first year, it mostly consisted of going over what teachers had in Power Points. It never really involved reading the actual material. However, as I have gone on, this semester I take notes kind of religiously about what I’m reading, especially in some of my political science classes. I spend at least five hours a week I would say writing notes for class, just so I can be prepared for midterms and the finals.”
